
ABOUT JESSICA DUTKA ART

Jessica Dutka is a textile and visual artist living in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She explores many areas of textiles, including garment sewing, quilting, knitting, and embroidery, and she loves to combine techniques in different ways to create unique costumes and art pieces. In addition to her textile work, Jessica uses many mediums, including found objects and recycled vintage pieces, to create artworks ranging from paintings to dioramas to jewellery.
Jessica draws inspiration from many areas of life, including archeology, high fashion, medieval clothing, earth sciences, Catholic imagery, 80s new wave fashion and many others. Currently, Jessica is excited to be exploring different mediums, including embroidered quilt hangings and knitting with EL wire. Her ultimate goal is to create unique and unconventional pieces that inspire others to appreciate the beauty of textile arts surrounding them, and to embrace joyful, bold, colourful creations.
